Bridge Foundation partners top German NGO to promote youth football

Bridge Foundation, a renowned registered nonprofit organization has partnered its German counterpart, Buntkicktgut to revive juvenile football in Ghana.

The partnership primarily seeks to promote juvenile street football leagues as well as to ensure better education among the youth in Accra and other parts of the country .

Ultimately, a selected side comprising ten players that will excel in the leagues together with three officials will have the opportunity to participate in the well organized FC Bayern Munich Youth Cup at the Allianz Arena, Germany.

Having partnered Bayern Munich for ten years and expanded to other parts of Germany and Africa (Togo), Buntkicktgut president, Mr. Rudiger Heid said “A friend introduced His Excellency Ray Quarcoo to me to replicate what we have been doing successfully in Togo here in Ghana.

"I am curious to start the Accra project because I know football talents abounds here. We want to make the kids responsible in the various communities.”

Founder and president of Bridge Foundation, Ambassador Ray Quarcoo ahead of the partnership deal said

“We hereby take this opportunity to submit our proposal for partnership and collaboration with your highly esteemed organization on the Togo model to replicate the “buntkicktgut” program in Ghana.

“Pursuant to our vision, our Foundation has established and running a Youth Educational and Sports Resource Centre, which provides learning and recreational opportunities; with a long term plan of establishing a soccer academy, which construction work has started.”

He added “With full recognition from the Department of Social Welfare and Education Service of Ghana, this partnership will contribute to reaching out to many more children/youth, expand our client base and promote the image of both of our organizations.”

The Bridge Foundation has the primary objective of enabling children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds through sports to create a better future for themselves, their families and communities.

As nonprofit organization, it shares the vision of using sports as youth development tool and for intercultural encounter and integration as an effective preventive intervention with regard to juvenile delinquency and dealing with violence.

Ambassador Quarcoo stated, “We hereby take this opportunity to submit our proposal for partnership and collaboration with your highly esteemed organization on the Togo model to replicate the “buntkicktgut” program in Ghana.
