Hundreds turn up for TechCrek Scouting tournament in Accra

A 3-day tournament aimed at discovering the country’s next football star is underway at the St Thomas Aquinas Park in Accra.

Over 100 aspiring footballers, drawn from various part of the country turned up at the park so sell their craft to a top FIFA agent and his team of renowned scouts.

The TechCrek Scouting tournament as the event has been christened is being supervised top FIFA agent Cristian Hossu who is leading a pack of renowned scout to select some of the budding youngsters.

The tournament will draw to close on Sunday and expectations are that the players will impress the scouts and earn lucrative deals outside.

Speaking to the press at the opening ceremony, Hossu said he was in awe of the talents exhibited at the early minutes.

He added that despite their overwhelming talent, some work would have to be done on the players to get them to the top.

“They have quality but they need to improve some skills. I have spoken to a coach of one of the teams of my impression and we expect the rest of the game to be 100%. I’m not curious about the result of the game, I’m curious about the product inside the game”.

The Chief Executive Officers of P-Tech Groupe who are headline sponsors of the tournament said he was impressed with the turnout of players and spectators.

“We were expecting eight teams but we had more which means the words have gone out. I was sitting with the coach and he was happy with the players”
