Court orders investigations into alleged Nigerian rapist documents

Accra, Oct 25,GNA- An Accra circuit tribunal on Monday ordered investigations into how a Nigerian, charged with defiling a six-year-old girl, entered the country.

The tribunal ordered that if he had a passport, it should be seized until the determination of the case. The tribunal gave the orders when Max Okpara, appeared before it on two counts of indecent assault and defilement.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded until October 27. The prosecution said the accused has a store near a house where the parents of the victim reside at Abeka in Accra.

On September 23, this year, while parents of the victim were away, the accused invited her into a room in his store and carnally had knowledge with the girl.

The prosecution said the accused warned the girl not to tell anyone of what he had done to her else, she would die.

The parents noticed that there was something unusual about their daughter following the incident and enquiries, she revealed that the accused had defiled her.

A medical report confirmed to the police that the victim had been raped by the accused.
