AIIG signs deal with AXA inter partner assistance for traveling services

Activa International Insurance Ghana (AIIG) signed a deal with AXA inter partner Assistance to provide affordable travel insurance to Ghanaians for international flights. Read on to learn more about the insurance firm.

Activa's New Online Insurance System

Activa International Insurance Ghana launched a new online insurance system on February 26, 2020. The system will help it meet the insurance needs of its customers. Insurance Technology (InsureTech) has digitized the insurance industry. So, AIIG needs to adopt new technology to reach the SME and retail markets.

Mr. Steve Kyerematen, the Vice-President of AIIG spoke about the insurance system in its launch before the British Council in Ghana. He said that it will comprise three parts:

These three media will help clients buy travel insurance online without interference from the firm's staff. It will help Ghanaians who travel to Egypt to play Cleopatra slots for fun. Also, they can purchase personal accident, home, and motor insurance. Activa is determined to make the insurance purchase process simple for all clients. Activa Online will offer them unlimited access to travel insurance. They can get insurance quotes, make online payments and click a button to receive their insurance documentation.

Mr. Steve stated that the online insurance system will help Ghanaians to access other insurance products including home, motor, and personal accident insurance. They can make and track insurance claims online. The Activa official assured clients that the company will settle simple insurance claims the same day they file them. Activa International Insurance Ghana designed the new system to help clients access its insurance premium finance in the purchase and quotation processes.

During the system's launch, Mr. Michael Kofi Andoh, the Deputy Commissioner of Insurance stated that the National Insurance Commission of Ghana recently introduced a Motor Insurance Database (MiD) to gain more control in the insurance industry. The database will help the commission identify fraudulent insurance firms that offer fake insurance stickers and undercut their premiums.

Mr. Kofi praised Activa for its bold move. He urged other travel insurance providers in Ghana to upgrade their insurance systems. Charles Kwakye endorsed Activa's online system on behalf of the Director-General of the Police. He said that the platform will help his department track illegal insurance covers in the nation.

Mr. Solomon Lartey, the Managing Director of Activa International Insurance assured Mr. Michael that Activa's new online insurance system complies with all regulatory requirements in the insurance market.

Activa International Insurance Ghana (AIIG) started operating in 20005 as the Global Alliance Insurance. The National Insurance Commission licensed it to provide general business insurance. AIIG is the seventh-largest insurance firm in Ghana, it has won several awards in the past including the 2014 Best Insurance Company in Ghana, the 2017 International Insurance Company of the Year in accountancy and finance and the 2017 and 2018 CIMG Non-Life Insurance Company of the Year.
