Minusma GHANENGCOY 8 takes over command

The newly appointed Officer Commanding (OC) the Ghana Engineer Company (GHANENGCOY 8) serving with the United Nation Multidimensional Integrated Stability Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) Lieutenant Colonel Atsu Agbenyega officially assumed command in a short but colourful ceremony at the sappers Camp of the Integrated Super Camp in Timbuktu on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

He took over from Lieutenant Colonel WLK Djiyehue, Officer Commanding GHANENGCOY 7 who successfully completed twelve months of service with the mission.

The Sector West Commander, Brigadier General Eno Eno Eyong who was the guest of honour commended the Ghana Engineer Company for the outstanding performance in the discharge of duties.

He applauded the outgoing OC for his good work and quick response to task orders urging the new Commander, Lt Col A Agbenyega to emulate Coy 7 in order to further lift high the flag of Ghana in the MINUSMA theatre.

In his remarks, the in-coming commander thanked the sector Commander for honouring the invitation and also commended the outgoing commander and his troops for the successful completion of their mandate. He wished them well and promised to keep the flag of Ghana high.

Lt Col WLK Djiyehue on his part, admonished Officers, Men and Women of GHANENGCOY 8 to be committed to the task ahead of them in supporting their command to lift high the flag of Ghana and the Armed Forces in particular.
