Businessmen urged to take advantage of economic stability

Kumasi, July 4, GNA - Members of the business community in the Ashanti Region have been urged to take advantage of the prevailing favourable economic environment in the country to expand their businesses.

The reduction in bank interest rates, stability of the cedi and other economic indicators should serve as an incentive to businesses to expand.

Mr Philip Yaw Amakye, the Regional Chairman of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made the call at a get-together organised by the Regional Branch of the Chamber in Kumasi on Saturday. He said the Chamber, as an advocacy arm of business, had been in the forefront in the formulation of policies and decisions that affected business operations in the country.

Mr Amakye asked members to take active part in the activities of the Chamber and to take advantage of the opportunities available to them to increase their capacities.

He also advised members to unite and seek information in order to be abreast with developments in their businesses.
