Former CID boss, Maame Tiwaa Addo-Dankwa has listed the resolution of a 30-year protracted dispute between the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and Private Lottery Operators as one of her greatest achievements.

According to her, a planned demonstration under her tenure, by the Private Lottery Operators over the impasse, almost altered into a security concern until her outfit intervened with both parties to find an amicable solution.

Speaking at a signing ceremony in Accra where the NLA and Private Lottery Operators met to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), COP Tiwaa said; “This is one of my remarkable achievements as the director of CID; I am grateful to NLA for marking us a part of this,” AdomOnline reports.

She expressed her excitement at the feat and noted that a consensus had finally been reached, pledging her continuous support to NLA in making their operations successful.

The National Lottery Authority on Tuesday, January 14, reached an amicable settlement with private lotto operators to bring their activities under its regulatory arm to end a 30-year impasse.

The two parties have had a dispute with the private lotto operators challenging the NLA to supervise their activities nationwide.

Chief Executive Officer of the Lotteries Authority, Samuel Osei Ameyaw speaking to reporters said the deal provides an opportunity to bring ground-breaking reforms to the lottery sector for greater employment generation.
