Make Ghana great and strong, new customs officers urged

Colonel Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd.), Commissioner, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has called on new officers of the Customs Division to use their skills in revenue collection to make the country great and strong.

He urged them to use soft skills and techniques in Information Technology to help the Authority meet its revenue targets.

Col. Damoah said this at the passing out parade for basic paramilitary/customs course for junior cadets at the GRA Academy at Kpetoe.

He said the country needed revenue to implement social interventions and programmes and urged the officers to do their best towards agenda "Ghana Beyond Aid" and reposition the country as an economic giant.

Col. Damoah said expectations for the Authority are high and asked them to justify their recruitment and commitment to the service of the country.

The Commissioner urged them to be patriotic and demonstrate high sense of integrity.

A total of 190 junior cadets made up of 72 females and 118 males were commissioned to be posted to various units of the Customs Division to help in revenue collection.

They were taken through drill training, weapon handling, customs laws, preventive duties and armed combat.

Junior Cadet Kingsley Opoku-Agyarko emerged the all-round best trainee.
