Kufuor is Atwima Nwabiagya North District best farmer for 2019

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has been awarded as the 2019 best farmer of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti Region.

The former President who is both livestock and crop production has hectares of farms and rears various ruminants and was adjudged the best in the District in this year’s farmers’ day.

For his prize, he received farming items, a certificate among others.

Meanwhile, the President at the 35th Farmers’ Day celebration, on December 6, 2019, held at the Jubilee Park, Ho, in the Volta Region, appealed to Ghanaians to help boost agricultural production that will lead to self-sufficiency by patronizing the produce and products of Ghanaian farmers.

He especially appealed to Ghanaians to follow his example by eating Ghana rice so as to ease the burden of rice farmers who have often complained of low patronage.

The recent campaign to promote local rice production followed a glut experienced by some rice farmers in especially the Upper East Region.
