I am not a Presidential Staffer - Lawyer Kwame Akuffo

Private legal practitioner, Lawyer Kwame Akuffo has denied allegation by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being a presidential staffer.

The NDC at a press conference on Tuesday released list of 51 family and friends of Akuffo Addo’s government.

Kwame Akuffo was among the list as presidential staffer being a paternal relative of President Akuffo-Addo.

But reacting to the issue on Accra based radio Okay FM monitored by Ghanacrusader.com, lawyer Kwame Akuffo denied the allegation stating that, the fact that they all hail from one family does not mean he is a presidential staffer.

“I am not a presidential staffer. We are all family members and come from Akropong but that’s not the case. I am not a presidential staffer. I have never stepped foot in the Jubilee House since Akuffo-Addo became president and I don’t even know the colour of the Jubilee House.” He said.

He wondered why, the communications director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi will come out with an allegation of no evidence.

He questioned, where in the law of Ghana that depicts one from even giving a job to an eligible family member when he/she gains power.

He urged the public to treat the allegation as the contempt it deserves.
