Dr Pambo calls for stringent medical measures ahead of next GPL season

Dr Prince Pambo, a multifaceted Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician has called on the new administration of Ghana Football to as a matter of urgency ensure that medial measures at every level of Ghana football, especially at the Premier League are taken seriously.

According to Dr Pambo there cannot be real change in the elite division of Ghana Football when the basic healthcare requirements of professional footballers are neglected.

He adds that the era where Premier League games are played without an ambulance present at the match venue should be a thing of the past because it endangers not only the footballers but also the spectators who come to watch these games.

New GFA President, Kurt Okraku has promised to reignite the lost passion of Ghanaians in the local game, and Dr Pambo believes this is one sure way to reignite the passion.

Speaking on Accra based Asempa FM, Dr Pambo said “in this era I don’t know why there should be games at league venues where there are no ambulances. In my opinion, if there is no ambulance at any league venue then the game must not come on. This is basic for the safety of everyone at the stadium.”
Dr Pambo is the first Ghanaian doctor on CAF Medical Committee.

He was one of the six doctors selected for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Egypt a few months ago.

He was in charge of all medical issues including emergency medical services and Doping control in Group E in Suez which featured Tunisia, Mali, Angola and Mauritania.

Dr Pambo's impressive work ethics has seen him rise quickly- than expected on the continent and continues to endear himself to CAF top officials.
