Rotary Club of Accra Cantonments donates educational materials to Kutunse MA Primary School

The Rotary Club of Of Accra Cantonments as part of its service project activities for 2019 has donated educational materials to the pupils of Kuntunse MA Primary school in the Ga West Municipal Assembly.

The gesture, worth GH¢6, 000 forms part of the club’s project dubbed: “Back to school” which is aimed at encouraging children to develop a positive attitude towards reading and writing.

The items also included books, pencils, pens, Colgate toothpaste and other leaning materials.

Miss Jennifer Amponsah acting, headmistress of Kutunse MA Primary schools, who received the items, thanked the donors for their kind gesture, saying, the items would be used judiciously to enable the pupils to attain quality skills and knowledge to excel in all their endeavors.

Members of the Rotary Club of Cantonments, Partners-In-Service and some teachers of the Kuntunse MA Primary school were there to make the donation a success.

The President of Rotary Club of Accra Cantonments, Miss Judith at a brief ceremony held at the premises of Kuntunse MA primary school presented the learning materials together with seasoned young actor Rahim Banda to the school, said that the gesture would improve reading skills among the pupils.

She added that the gesture would help “in bridging the learning habits among pupils in the school and thus encouraged the pupils to make good use of the books.

Sensational and one of Ghana's finest young actors Rahim Banda who is the ambassador for free SHS in a brief speech advised the pupils of Kuntunse MA primary school to put education first because if he wasn't educated he wouldn't have come this far.

The Human resource manager of Ga West Municipal Education miss Theodore Annan Kuofie commended the club for the gesture and pledged that the education directorate would ensure that the books were put to good use.She again encouraged the pupils to make good use of the books, adding that it was sad that many pupils in public schools could not read or write.

Madam Theodore appealed to rotary club Accra cantonments and the general public to assist them with electricity facilities to increases the time students spend at school and to improve children's and teachers’ experience.
