Organizers of 'Women in Worship' donate cash, items to Chenard at KBTH

Organisers of 'Women in Worship' on Wednesday Octber 16, 2019, donated cash and items to Cervical Cancer Unit also known as Chenard at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital as part of its Akatasia Campaign.

Generating funds from the worship event held in September, organisers of the event led by Mrs Georgina Nettey donated surgical items, BP apparatus, detergents, wheel chairs, hospital screens, kettles etc as support for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and cash for Offsetting bills of admitted female patients living with cervical cancer at the Chenard Unit.

Presenting the items, Chief Executive Officer of Genet Services and Curator of 'Women in Worship', addressed the need for the constant sensitization and awareness of the cancer

"We hope to reach thousands of people with our Akatasia Campaign, which aims at providing free Cervical Cancer Screening and Education for women in various communities across the length and breadth of Ghana," she said.

"In so doing our able team is set to visit various Senior High Schools and Tertiary Institutions to educate females on the causes of the cancer and I want to use this opportunity to call on the first and Second Lady of the republic of Ghana , corporate bodies and pharmaceutical companies in Ghana to join hands with us as we fight against Cervical Cancer," she added.
