Let discipline and time conscious be your hallmark - GIMPA GRASAG President

Students of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) have been urged to make discipline and perseverance a hallmark in their quest for academic excellence and success in life.

He indicated that no meaningful progress could be made where indiscipline held sway.

The President of Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG)-GIMPA, Mr. Raphael Apetorgbor gave the advice at the 17th matriculation ceremony held for newly admitted undergraduate and graduate students at Greenhill campus, Accra.

Mr. Apetorgbor entreated the matriculants to be conscious of the way they manage their time in order to make progress in life.

“To the matriculants, I entreat each one of you to be conscious of the way you manage your time in order to make progress in life. Let's do away with the Africa punctuality syndrome and respect time. Time is the regulator of the world and needs to be respected,” he said.

Mr. Apetorgbor also enjoined the students to be familiar with the student's handbook to enable them to adhere to the rules and regulations that guide their behaviour on campus.

He further urged them to take the registration of their courses serious to avoid challenges.

Mr Apetorgbor used the opportunity to commend management for putting up an ultramodern edifice for the graduate school that would create a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

He asked the matriculants to be responsible, transparent and ethical in their dealings.

Mr Apetorgbor congratulated the matriculants for gaining admission to Ghana's prestigious university, GIMPA, to pursue their post-graduate studies.

Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, Rector, GIMPA in his address advised the students to respect the rules and regulations of the Institute and to adhere to its four values - Excellence, Distinctiveness, Connectedness and Sustainability.

"This is the Centre of Excellence. As a value of excellence and as a student in the Centre of Excellence, we want you to demonstrate excellence," he said.
