Stanbic Bank introduce Visa Credit Card

Stanbic Bank Ghana on Wednesday, October 9 launched its innovative visa credit card to facilitate banking transactions.

The launch of the new card is a demonstration of Stanbic’s commitment to providing world-class products and services to its clients.

Speaking at the launch, the Head of Card and Payment Solution at Stanbic Bank, Nii Odartey Lamptey said that the card is to ensure that customers transact their businesses conveniently and efficiently.

He disclosed that the bank will embark on a campaign to sensitize people on the importance of credit cards and defuse the notion that it keeps people in debt.

Odartey Lamptey also assured that the bank will put measures in place to enable customers access the cards without hassle.

“What we will require to do is to make the card very simple, very easy and then we need to deliver on the timelines that we promise to deliver. The second bit is also to do education to cancel out the fear fact that people have. People thinks that when they have the credit card they will be in debt forever. The card has not gotten a tenure so once you pay your debt you can use it again”.

He highlighted a number of benefits with the card which among other things include interest-free payment period for 25 days, purchase products and services online, and be protected from fraud.

He urged users of the card to notify the bank as quickly as possible when it get into the hands of wrong people.

“Victims of card fraud should contact the bank immediately to block the card, for investigations to follow and possibly get the victim’s funds for him or her”, he said.

The Country Manager for Visa Ghana, Adoma Peprah maintained that visa credit card is the most credible and reliable means of making transactions across the world.

Any individual, 18 years and above with a monthly net salary of GH?3,000.00 and above is eligible to obtain a credit card.
