"Akufo-Addo is a tyrant who does not believe in democracy," this is according to host of ‘With All Due Respect’, Kevin Ekow Taylor.

Mr Taylor was reacting to how a Ghanaian based in the United States of America, Solomon Owusu was treated by President Akufo-Addo’s bodyguards when he tried attending a forum where he had applied to ask the president some questions over the weekend.

Ekow Taylor is of the view that Nana Addo “thinks the presidency is his birthright so no Ghanaian can ask him questions about how he is governing the country”.

He said the president has proven to the world that he does not believe in democracy and he cannot be trusted.

“I can say on authority that if he (Akufo-Addo) loses the 2020 elections he is not going to accept defeat like his predecessors. Akufo-Addo has been consumed by power and greed,” Kevin Taylor added.

“Who the hell do you think you are, you are just the president of Ghana. President Trump, Vladimir Putin, the President of Germany and all presidents of those big nations he borrows from…they are all questioned by their citizens…who are you!” he stressed.

Background

Solomon Owusu had gotten an approval with his conference code sent to him to be part of the audience which President Akufo-Addo was billed to speak to at Rutgers University in New Jersey but upon arrival, persons believed to be the bodyguards of the president prevent him from entering the conference hall without any reason.

He said in a video monitored online by GhanaWeb that, "Macho men from Ghana told me they have been instructed not to allow me to enter the conference hall. I asked why and they were bossy… so I told them f*** you; you're in the United States and not in Ghana... you can't bring that bush life here.”

Solomon believed he was prevented from participating in the event because of some question he had asked earlier about the arrest and deportation of ‘Chinese galamsey queen’ Aisha Huang during an earlier forum at Princeton University of which the president answered by indicating that government’s decision to deport the Chinese national after her reported involvement in illegal mining was a mistake.
