Another UG student dead, cause remains unknown

A final year student at the Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana (Legon) has reportedly lost her life after collapsing on Tuesday, September 17, ABC News can report.

According to reports by the University’s news portal, universnewsroom.com, the level 400 Religion and Economics student, Yvonne Owusu Nyantah, is said to have passed out while attempting to board a shuttle bound for the main University of Ghana Campus in the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased, a resident of the United Nations Hostel, popularly known as Bani, is suspected to be asmathic, although checks have not yet been made to establish the cause of her death.

The University of Ghana chapter of the Religion Students Association of Ghana which the late Yvonne Owusu belonged to has already sent their condolences to the family of the deceased.

The Association, after learning of her death said that it was ‘shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely death of Yvonne’.

In a statement released immediately after the news reached them, they indicated that ‘her death was a big loss to the family’ and indicated that ‘she would be missed.’

“We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and loved ones, hoping they will eventually find healing and strength,” the statement added.
