Police find clue to unsolved murders?

It is emerging that the Ghana Police Service has found other reliable but unscientific means to solve the numerous unsolved murders in the country.

The option was applied in the discovery of the human remains retrieved from some cesspits in Takoradi about three weeks ago.

The Police Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the families of the missing Takoradi girls have teamed up to conduct the DNA of the bones to determine if they are those of the disappeared girls.

Unconfirmed reports reaching The Chronicle indicate that the dress and earrings of one of the girls, who is reportedly a Sunday school teacher, were found at a place believed to be where the murder took place.

Also, another victim with artificial dentures was found in the manhole, after the murder took place.

A top security source, who spoke to The Chronicle on condition of anonymity, stated that if the new system remains reliable, it would not be surprising if Scotland Yard, the hub for criminal investigation, comes down to acquire further experience in Ghana.

The source named some of the unsolved murders to be piloted with the unscientific means as that of Nene Atsure Benta, Manklalo of Prampram, Ahmed Suale, the investigative journalist of Tiger Eye P I fame, and Mrs Josephine Tandoh Asante, Marketing and Public Affairs Manager at the Tema Port of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
