Pharmaceutical Company donates drugs to support AIDS patients

Kumasi, March 16, GNA - Sharp Pharmaceuticals, a drugs manufacturing company, has made available assorted drugs valued at about 25 million cedis in support of HIV-AIDS patients in the Ashanti Region. The drugs, which could cater for not less than 300 patients, are meant to boost their health and vitality.

Mrs Perpetua Kessie-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Manager of the company, handed them over to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, at a ceremony in Kumasi.

She said the donation was part of their social responsibility, adding, "It is important that we all accept to do our bit to help those living with the deadly disease".

This is the second time in about two months that the Company has donated drugs to help care for HIV-AIDS patients in the country. The first was made to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. Mr Boafo thanked the Company for the gesture and hoped others would follow the example.
