Standard Chartered wins BancAssurance Leader of the Year Award

Standard Chartered Bank, the oldest commercial bank in Ghana has won BancAssurance Leader Award at the just ended 2018 Ghana Insurance Awards held in Accra on Friday, July 26, 2019.

The bank attained this award for being pioneers of BancAssurance for the past twelve years and having achieved extended market reach as well as creating and distributing innovative products that well engages its customers.

The BancAssurance Leader Award also recognizes the efforts of Standard Chartered Bank in forging strong bancassurance partnerships since 2007.

Meanwhile, with almost 20,000 policy holders on board, Standard Chartered Bank increased its annual premium from GH¢9.6million in 2017 to GH¢10.2million in 2018.

The bank’s Executive Director for Wealth and Management, Setor Quarshigah expressed gratitude to their two insurance partners, Enterprise Insurance and Prudential Life for consistently protecting their clients.

She, however, called on Ghanaians to sign onto their Future Plus and Future Needs plans policies to enrich their lives.

The Future Need and Future Plus plans, she stated, will enable parents to save towards the cost of their child’s education with the promise of a guaranteed contribution from Prudential Life.



In an interview with GhanaWeb, the Events Director of the Ghana Insurance Awards, Richard Abbey Jnr, noted that this awards scheme is organized to honour top class performance, professionalism, and innovation across the Ghanaian insurance industry.

He added that the event aims at promoting the growth of the industry through progressive competition, innovation and adherence to the highest professional standards.

Richard Abbey Jnr said, “we believe some people are performing well, I mean professionalism is at stake. Others are also introducing innovative products. People are also reaching the informal sector through micro-insurance and other kinds of insurance. Now, it then becomes very important to honour these people who are excelling”.

He pointed out that, this awards ceremony will be held yearly to honour people who have contributed immensely towards the development of the industry, thereby urging Ghanaians to keep participating in the Ghana Insurance Awards.
