Mohinani Group educates motorbike and tricycle riders on maintenance

Somoco Ghana Ltd, a member of the Mohinani group has launched a campaign to educate motorbike and tricycle riders on how to operate and maintain their tricycles to ensure safety and also to help boost Ghana’s transport sector.

Speaking at the grand opening of the new branch of Somoco Ghana Ltd dealers in Bajaj Motors off the Ofankor-Pokuase Road in Accra, the product head of Bajaj motors Two-Wheeler, f.M. Raja Sekha said the transport sector is changing rapidly with the emergence of technology and therefore there is the need for motor riders and mechanics to acquire additional skills to cope with the situation.

He added that there has been a rampant breach of the rules governing traffic and safety precautions by motor riders with its attendant cause of road accidents which he said needed to be critically looked at, which he said Somoco Ghana Ltd has taken upon itself to educate its customers who patronize the Bajaj brand.

The acting Group Marketing manager for Mohinani group, Frank Mickson-Yeboah in a remark added that, there are various means of transport, but the most important is for one to arrive safely to which motorcycles and tricycles cannot be exempted, he said as part of their contribution to the development of Ghana’s Transport sector Somoco Ghana Ltd has decided to educate motor riders on the need to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the usage of motorcycles.

According to the acting Group Marketing Head of Mohinani, They are one company that truly understands customer satisfaction and business relations and has accordingly inculcated same into its business model.

As part of the Campaign, about 50 motor riders and 20 motor cycle repairers were offered specialized training in servicing and repairing of Tricycles and Motorcycles. The new branch would cater for needs of the people of Ofankor-Pokuasi and its environs.
