The Wassa East District Entrepreneurial governance is leveraging on Socfin Group's $20m new Oil Palm Processing Factory planted at Daboase to create opportunities and prosperity for her people.

According to Hon Wilson Arthur, DCE of Wassa East, two strategic vehicles the district government has deployed are:

1) Cooperating with management of PSG to prepare local engineers and train locals who could occupy good job positions in the new factory and

2) Adopting Oil Palm as main crop in new Government of Ghana Planting for Exports and Rural Development (PERD) Policy.

The District Assembly Agric Department is in the process of distributing over 100,000 high quality Oil Palm seedlings to 1,000 Farmers to serve the new PSG Oil Mill Factory.

Plantation Socfinaf Ghana on their own have cultivated a little in excess of 6,000 hectares of Oil Palm that can supply about 40% capacity of their new Factory scheduled to start production in August/ September 2019-

Mr Wilson Arthur, already Golden Star Wassa Mines GSOP project has 2,000 plus Oil Palm plantation around Ateiku area ready to serve the new factory and individual Oil Palm farmers collectively could add about another 1,000 hectares.

The Agric Department is collating data on Oil Palm farming across the District so as to fill the opportunity and support the success of the Socfin investment.

This one way of activating the new vision to make Wassa East a land of opportunities and Prosperity for all.
