Ghana to host youth conference to deliberate on road map for achievement of SDGs

A conference aimed at bringing together youth from across the continent under one roof to elaborate on innovative ways to achieve the SDG 4, on attaining quality education, is expected to come off in Ghana this July.

The conference dubbed, “IHAV Project Conference 2019”, will see close to 100 youth engaged in different ventures on the continent geared towards the attainment of the goal attend the event.

The 4-day event is expected to take place from 4th -27th July, 2019 at University of Ghana.

In a press release to announce the details of the event, organisers of the 4-day conference IHAV, a Non-Profit Organisation, disclosed that the motive of the programme is to give “participants a better understanding of global goals regarding quality education and the role they can play in achieving them with emphasis on Africa and increase interest of active engagement in current economic and continental issues connected to affecting quality education.”

The statement signed by Sabtiya Wahab Abubakar, Media Relations Offficer of the Non-Profit Organisation also added that the “activities seek to channel the output of these youth in accomplishing sustainable development goals in their respective 10 countries in Africa and 1 in Asia, that IHAV operates in.”

With the presence of delegates from close to 20 countries expected to join their colleagues in Ghana for the conference, IHAV hopes to gather a pool of innovative ideas that will shape the focus and strategies towards the attainment of the SDG 4.

IHAV PROJECT CONFERENCE 2019 TO HOST YOUTH FROM 20 COUNTRIES THIS JULY

In an era where education has taken grounds in the global quest to impact change and motivate the youth, the need for innovation and paradigm to generate change has become prim in the vision of most organizations.

One recommendable organization that is profound at the realization of the ideas of young people is the IHAV, a non-profit organization. It employs an entrepreneurial dimension to nurture the African youth by nurturing and installing potentials, and inspiring the youth towards the mark of becoming leaders of great thinking.

These empowering activities seek to channel the output of these youth in accomplishing sustainable development goals in their respective 10 countries in Africa and 1 in Asia, that IHAV operates in.

In 2013, IHAV’s conference was themed at enhancing agriculture and entrepreneurship among African youth. It explored the need for the youth from 7 participating countries to involve their skills and knowledge they acquired from the conference to power the growing agricultural background of Africa.

The 2014 conference focused on creating an agribusiness resolution with Africa’s youth. A projective target of growing agribusiness to fulfil Africa’s agricultural production and sustainable food and livestock was addressed by participants from 9 countries.

In 2017, the sustainable development goal 8; decent work and economic growth was the emphasis. The importance of work ethics and organizational goals driven by economic empowerment and growth was deliberated on by participants from 15 countries.

The organization’s 2019 conference dubbed “IHAV Project Conference 2019” will be hosting 100 participants from 20 African countries poised on the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. This is a 4 days conference to tackle issues related to raising the standard of education and its quality, elaborating on the impact of quality education, as well at the development requirement to ensure the attainment of these goals.

Its registration for Ghanaian applicants is still open with an accommodation option of resident or non-resident, for the conference which runs from 24th -27th July, 2019 at University of Ghana.

The conference will give participants a better understanding of global goals regarding quality education and the role they can play in achieving them with emphasis on Africa and increase interest of active engagement in current economic and continental issues connected to affecting quality education.

Applicants would be heightened on the responsibility to apply their learning to be the best they can be and increase their productivity and creativity. The role of creativity in the formal and informal education would be broadened to attain the vision of increased productivity.

A greater knowledge and appreciation of other African countries and cultures that connotes quality education would be addressed. Modules of such countries would be examined to give an understanding to participants to enact them in their respective regional countries.

Also, the aim of this conference is to bring together youth from all over the African continent to connect and share ideas that goes further to increase learning and knowledge acquisition. It also tends to break cultural and political barriers trough teamwork and regional collaborations to tackle issues that are common to our communities and region with respect to quality education.

In all, the “IHAV Project Conference 2019” is to make young people critical thinkers and innovative problem solvers for the African continent. The potentials that are embedded in their zeal to cause a change would be triggered to an utmost level of output.
