Parliament decides fate of 3 today

BREAKING:Unconfirmed sources indicate Dr. Anane and Sheik Quaye will be confirmed.

The appointments committee of parliament is expected to present its final report on the three deferred Ministers of State-designate to Members of Parliament (MPs) today.
The beleaguered ministers who made media headlines are: Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye, Greater Accra Region Minister-designate, Dr Richard Anane, Minister-designate for Roads and Transport and the Central Region Minister-designate, Isaac Edumadze.
The sub-committee set up by the main committee to further investigate the three, submitted its report at an emergency meeting yeserday.
Though the report is yet to be presented officially to Parliament for approval there are already media speculations on which of the three will make it
According to one mdia report two of the ministers-designate - Sheikh I.C Quaye and Dr Richard Anane have been exonerated. Nothing has been heard about the other, Mr Isaac Edumadze.
According to JoyOnline, the appointments committee has approved by consensus the nomination of Sheik Quaye by consensus, but they could not agree on Dr. Richard Anane and Isaac Edumadze. If this is unresolved before sitting today, the two?s approval or otherwise would be put to a secret ballot when the House sits today.
I must be recalled that, the appointments committee deferred their decisions on the three to a Sub-Committee to investigate certain aspects of their testimony when they appeared for vetting. Thirty-one out of 34 ministers-designate presented to Parliament for vetting were approved by a unanimous decision last Tuesday.
Sheikh I.C Quaye's approval was withheld because of his inability to present the certificates he obtained from the university among others. He explained that those certificates got destroyed when his house was demolished in 1963 and was incarcerated subsequently.
Mr. Edumadze is accused of corruption, bullying and meddling in chieftaincy matters, issues that were all denied by the minister designate when he appeared before the vetting committee.
Dr Richard Anane's has been questioned on how he got money to pay-off the mother of his American born child.
It will be recalled when Anane appeared before the committee, he failed to convince the committee of his sources of income and the amount of money he had transferred to his American lover girl. He also denied ever picking up a hotel bill of ?51 million when she visited him in Ghana. Though he agreed that, with the assistance of his family members, he had been remitting his American wife for the up keep of their two-year-old son. he said the amount involved was in the range of $6000 to $10,000 and not $90,000 as alleged by the Committee.
