Paul Asare Ansah launches agenda 100% for BECE candidates

Paul Asare Ansah, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Transport and a Parliamentary Hopeful in Asuogyaman has launched Agenda 100% in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) by 2020.

Addressing educational stakeholders in Akosombo Mr. Ansah noted that improving the standard of education in Asuogyaman requires extra strategic interventions.

He has therefore teamed up with the District Directorate of education to plan and ensure that the district scores 100% in the B.E.C.E by 2020. In 2017, 67.3% passed the exams. This improved to 73.1% in 2018.

Paul Ansah's support for education in the district in 2019 includes the provision of educational materials and support for evening prep for upper primary and JHS under strict supervision.

Others are sponsorship for the B.E.C.E, prospectus sponsorship for B.E.C.E candidates who score aggregate 6-10, spelling and quiz competitions, support for library projects, providing access to past questions and examiners' reports as well as support for speech and prize giving day.

He presented 2,000 mathematical sets, 2,000 clear school bags, 2,000 rulers, 12,000 pens, 10,000 exercise books and 1,000 core mathematics books to the District Director of Education Mrs. Theodora Kutorkor Entee who accompanied him to distribute them to JHS students throughout the district.

In his remarks, the DCE, Hon. Samuel Kwame Agyekum praised Paul Ansah for his strong commitment to the upliftment of the standard of education in the district. He emphasised that "if he had five people like Paul Ansah doing what he is doing in the district, the development would have gone very far".
