Super Agent Mino Raiola, who handles some of the biggest names in the football industry including Manchester United's Paul Pogba, had his three-month Italian ban extended to a worldwide sanction.

World football governing body Fifa, announced through a statement that Raiola was suspended for a period of three months while his cousin Vincenzo Raiola was handed a two month ban.

"The chairman of the Fifa disciplinary committee has today decided to extend the sanctions imposed by Italian Football Association (FIGC) on the intermediaries Carmine (Mino) and Vincenzo Raiola to have worldwide effect," read the statement in part.

"Carmine is suspended for a period of three months and Vincenzo Raiola for a period of two months," it said.

The FIGC who had earlier handed the super agent his Italian suspension on Wednesday, May 8, did not specify the exact reason for the ban on Raiola.

Raiola handles high-profile clients including Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marseille's Mario Balotelli and Juventus teenager Moise Kean among other superstars.

Raiola reacting to the statement on Thursday, May 9, slammed the Italian Football Association and said the move was politically fueled and did not consider the reason of law.

"The Italian ban is not a surprise unfortunately," Raiola said according to BBC.

"My personal concern is that it has been a sentence dominated by political willing, without taking into consideration the reason of law.

I guess that Italian football Associations has not forgiven me when I have diffused my critics for their role in the disastrous state of Italian football, as well as their role around the latest episode of the racism problem," he said.
