Police deny reports of kidnapping in Afram Plains

The Eastern Regional Police Command says last Saturday’s swoop in Afram Plains is not kidnapping as being claimed by indigenes in the area.

The Police, Navy and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Armed Forces went to the Zikpo community and took away nine men and seven children who have been trafficked and are being used for hazardous work in the Afram Plains area.

The Regional Police PRO, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said the operation was deliberate to rescue the children whose lives were in danger.
