The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias “Chairman Wontumi” has labelled former president Mahama as ‘self-centered and selfish’ stating that the latter only bothers about the welfare of his family and not Ghanaians.

Comparing the NDC and the NPP administration over the years, he questioned Mahama’s willpower to implement policies and make life beneficial for the people of Ghana.

“What did he do during all 8 years? Free SHS? Planting for food? Import duties reduction, Did he do any of these? “Mahama has been disgraced. John Mahama only has good plans and wisdom for his family and his own, he has no good plans for Ghana. He is self-centered and selfish”, he added.

Wontumi also lambasted Former president Mahama and his cronies for what he says are ‘evil schemes’ targeted at sabotaging the Akufo-Addo government.

While addressing issues regarding government’s Flagship Free SHS program on Kumasi-based Ashh FM, Mr. Boasiako indicated that the NDC is terrified of the NPP winning the 2020 elections, the reason they are bent on increasing efforts to educate the Ghanaian population and empower them such that they are discerning enough to ‘fish out’ the evil plans of the NDC.

“Mahama and NDC members are afraid that if the NPP wins power in 2020, more people will go to school and they will be enlightened enough to determine their evil schemes.”

Former President Mahama in his speech at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in the Central Region made comments about the implementation of government’s Free SHS program.

In his words, “what we are doing with this huge influx into the secondary school system [due to the free SHS programme]…is going to affect the quality of the public schools. And soon we are going to find a system where people lose faith in public schools and everybody will pay to take their wards to private secondary schools. That is the danger we are talking about.”

Chairman Wontumi who finds his posturing outrageous noted that Mahama is bent on destroying the good works of the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and would do all to ensure his plans are realised.

“Mahama’s motivation is to destroy all the good works of Akufo-Addo.” he said.
