Experienced Ghanaian gaffer Bashiru Hayford is set to be named the head coach of Somalia’s national team, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.

The former AshGold trainer has traveled to Somalia to finalize the deal to become the head coach of Lions of Punt.

The Black Queens coach received an offer to become the head coach of the Somali national team LIONS OF PUNT a few weeks ago and has jetted out of the country to go and complete talks with the Somalia FA.

Footballmadeinghana.com understands the former Ashanti Gold and Ebusua Dwarfs gaffer left Accra last Friday for negotiations and is likely to sign a 2-year contract with the side before returning to Ghana.

Bashir Hayford came under a lot of criticism after failing to qualify the Black Queens of Ghana to the Womens World Cup in France during the Women’s AFCON in Ghana earlier this year.

The controversial gaffer comes with a great dal of experience after coaching some of the top teams in Ghana, including Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC.
