Kwadwo Asamoah was left with a sour mouth on his 250th Italian Serie A appearance milestone after Inter Milan were humbled 2-1 by Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena on Friday night.

The Nerazzurri were beaten 2-1 in Sardinia by Luca Ceppitelli and Leonardo Pavoletti goals, around a Lautaro Martinez header.

The scoreline could have been 3-1, but Nicolò Barella missed a penalty in stoppages.

The result came as a big blow to Kwadwo Asamoah who was making his 250th-appearance in the Italian top flight league.

He was replaced with Antonio Candreva in the 83rd minute as Luciano Spalletti's men went in search of an equalizer.

Asamoah joined Udinese during the 2017/2008 campaign from Ghana Premier League outfit Liberty Professionals but was shipped out on loan to Swiss side Bellinzona before another loan at Italian side Torino.

He made a combined 230 appearances for Udinese first team and Juventus in the Italian Serie A.

The Ghana international left Juventus in the summer after six trophy-laden seasons with the Bianconeri to join rivals Inter Milan on a three-year deal.

Asamoah has continued his impressive showing in the ongoing campaign for the Nerrazurri, playing a further 20 games in the Serie A to tally his all-time appearance to 250.
