Damaged M.R.I and CT scans in Korle Bu repaired

Dilapidated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines, X-rays and Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning machines at the Advanced Medical Center in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has been repaired.

The Center was re-commissioned today, February, 21 2019.

According to the Executive Officer of the Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Asare, the machines which were damaged and ineffective have, through the help of Africano and Toshiba, been restored and are ready for use by the facility.

"Most of you know that Korle-Bu CT and MRI machines have been non-functional for the past 10 months, but now through the help of our friends at Toshiba and Africano, the machines have been repaired and ready for use” he said

Speaking to the media, Dr Asare said the repaired CT and MRI machines comes with a one-year warranty given them by Africano Health Care.

On his side, the Board Chairman of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Dr. Okoe Boye said, “We charged ourselves to restore everything back to normalcy so that no one leaves Korle-Bu, the premier hospital in Ghana for anything".

According to him, the hospital has made provisions for backup equipment to enhance the smooth running of the machines.
