Inmates of the Koforidua Prisons are appealing to the public to gift them with large flat screen television set to enable them watch football matches.

According to the inmates, most of them are die-hard soccer fans hence football was their source of entertainment however unavailability of the Television in the Prison is curtailing their passion for football.

The inmates say the conditions at the prison is depressing and therefore believe the availability of sources of entertainment like DSTV where they can watch football tournaments will help to ameliorate the effect.

They said this when Prophet Albert Asihene Arjarquah, Head pastor of Omega House Chaple of Assemblies of God Church in Koforidua, as part of his annual visit to the prison, evangelized, dinned with the inmates and made donations of assorted soft drinks, food items and toiletries to the prison.

Prophet Arjarquah called on the government to initiate policies that will facilitate trial of cases to reduce the number of prisoners put on remand for years to help decongest prisons.

He advised the inmates to be transformed by the gospel and turn a new leaf after serving their sentences and have hope in Christ for opportunities. He also urged families not to stigmatize against ex-convicts.

The Second in Command of the Koforidua Prisons, Chief Superintendent Joseph Asabre commended Prophet Arjqarquah for his annual visit to the prison to support the inmates.
