France appoints new Ambassador to Ghana

Paris, France, 12/04 - President Jacques Chirac has appointed Pierre Jacquemot French ambassador to Ghana, an official source confirmed here Thursday.

Jacquemot, 58, was director of the School of Public Management (ENA) in Senegal from 1970 to 1972, then advisor to former Senegalese President Abdou Diouf from 1984 to 1989.

He was appointed to various French embassies, notably in Burkina Faso and Cameroon before returning to Paris to work at the ministries of Culture, Cooperation and Foreign Affairs.

Prior to his appointment, Pierre Jacquemot was French ambassador to Kenya.
