It hasn't been too long since the Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, in a meeting with the Ghana National Council of Private Schools stated that the private sector of education is explicitly in competition with the public sector.

The perception is very different on the side of the Director of Pre-Tertiary Education, Catherine Agyapomaa Appiah-Pinkrah.

This was revealed when she called for a meeting with the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) in her office Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

According to her, there is no difference between private schools and public schools when it comes to rendering educational services to the country.

She praised the good work each sector is doing for the development of Ghana's Education.

She called on private schools to partner with public schools for better education delivery.

She revealed that a policy is in the pipeline to be implemented to enable private schools and public schools have regular meetings and interactions every quarter with the sole aim of making progress in the betterment and improvement of the quality of education in Ghana.

The Executive Director of the Council, Enoch Gyetuah on his part, thanked the Pre-Tertiary Director for the good intentions and plans she has for private schools and called for a stronger relationship that would bridge the gap between private schools and public schools.
