The much anticipated City Construction and Properties Awards has been launched in Accra to appreciate and reward hardworking professionals in the construction industry.

According to Arch. Nii Teiko Evans Anfrom, Director at Evans-Anfom & Associates, there’s a direct correlation between the level of infrastructure and the productivity of the people in a country.

“There is a link between the productivity of a people, the prosperity of a people and the quality of its building, settlement, and spaces,” he said.

He said the awards will look at every activity involved in the construction industries because every category has its peculiar problems.

He explained that the categories will come in the form of recreational centers, residents, commercial, gated communities, hospitals, single-family houses, apartment blocks, institutional and many more.

He said, “the award will be extended to the districts level engaging the department of rural housing to access constructions at that level’

Arch. Nii Teiko Evans Anfrom said the awards will be organized according to the lifespan of housing.

“We will not organize this award every year, it will be done at least every two years until we have strong causes to do it every year” he said.

According to him, the award is slated for April 13, 2018.
