Former Asante Kotoko forward Stephen Manu has blasted captains of Premier League clubs for boycotting a meeting with the Ghana Football Normalisation Committee.

Seven out of sixteen premier league captains showed up at a meeting on Monday with the Normalisation Committee to discuss the plight of footballers in the country.

According to Manu, popularly known as "BA", the absence of many of the captains was disappointing since the meeting was to help address the challenges they face playing in the country.

"You need not to be given a transportation allowance before attending a meeting which is of your own benefit," he told Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

"I wonder why some of my colleague players requested transportation when the Normalization Committee invited us for a meeting."

"We should be patient and allow the Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee to normalize things in our football.

"For me, we shouldn't be in a rush to start football when things are not sanitized."

"I fuelled my car to go for the meeting with Normalization. I went to the meeting, not because of money but our future."

"We were invited to come and share our views cornering Ghana football."
