Ghana’s widely known wristwatch dealer, TimepieceGh is set to launch its maiden watch brand dubbed “Caveman” on 12th December 2018.

The Caveman watches which are handmade and of high quality are expected to provide watch enthusiasts a unique timepiece with a natural touch, and win recognition for Ghana in the global watch market.

The Chief Executive Officer of TimepieceGh, Anthony Dzamefe, detailed he decided to go into watch production after realizing Ghana was missing on the list of quality watch producing countries.

Mr Dzamefe, who has been into the sales of watch for about 3 years, said the Caveman brand was a gift to Ghanaians and as well encourage young citizens not to slumber on their dreams but “to keep pushing”.

“I started TimepieceGh in 2015, with just GHC50. I used to hawk watches I bought outside the country at car parks, at malls and offices. The business grew as time passed by, today I have my own brand of watches due to determination and commitment.”

After opening a shop in 2017, Mr Dzamefe realized none of the watches he has been selling were manufactured in Africa, this led him to take an online Swiss watch making course.

He subsequently started producing handmade leather straps, repairing watches and also making wall clocks from discarded wood. He calls this product “Woodpecker”.

Realizing he has got what it takes to produce top class watches, Mr Dzamefe, who was adjudged the Emerging Youth Innovator at the Ghana Youth Event Awards 2018, conceived an idea to start manufacturing his own brand of watches.

He explained “I decided to name my watch brand Caveman because I took inspiration from the sophisticated originality, durability, and natures presence in the works of the prehistoric caveman to remind Ghanaians to be limitless and achievers whiles keeping in touch with our origins”.

The watches designed by Mr Dzamefe are assembled in Switzerland and fitted with straps handmade by the Ghanaian.

The Caveman watches will start selling on 12th of December, 2018 on www.cavemanwatches.com and also displayed at the TimepieceGh shop located opposite Adjiringanor station. You can also visit CAVEMANWATCHES Facebook and Instagram pages for more details.
