The John Mahama 2020 campaign team has denied reports that some 265,000 cedis being donations for the filing fee of the former President has disappeared.

It described the said reports as fake, and orchestration of fake news entrepreneurs and their political paymasters.

“For the avoidance of doubt, no money paid to legitimate fundraising platforms launched by the campaign has disappeared,” a statement from the campaign camp Thursday said.

The campaign team claimed political detractors of John Mahama have been overwhelmed by the massive support of the general public as well as the positive response of Ghanaians to financially support the flagbearership and re-election bids Mr. Mahama.

As a result, the statement said those detractors are “doing everything they can to cause disaffection for the team.”

The team assured all supporters that monies received for the support of the John Mahama campaign will be accounted for “put to judicious use.

It has meanwhile expressed appreciation to persons who have donated money to the campaign as well as those supporting in diverse ways.
