Toptech Transport and Logistics in collaboration with the World Bank is organizing a one-week training on ‘Advanced driving and soft skill training’ for some 135 World Bank drivers across Africa.

The training according to the Executive Director of Toptech Mr. Cecil Garbrah, is in accordance with the policy of the World Bank to keep its workers knowledgeable with technology.

“It is really important that as a policy of the World Bank the drivers must be trained periodically so that they will save lives and properties for the bank and also to be ambassadors of the bank” he said
Mr. Garbrah added that the training comes in handy since there have been calls from stakeholders for drivers to resort to defensive driving in order to reduce road accidents.

“This training will help these drivers not only represent the World Bank in their various countries but also assist Africa in reducing the carnage on our roads” he noted.

According to him, driving is not only about the ability to move and operate a vehicle rather it requires a lot of skills.

“ If you’re driving a 4*4 you need the skill to manipulate the gears in case of any emergency and I am sorry to say, the Ghanaian driver cannot do this and I pray Corporate Ghana will take this up so that they’ll employ very good drivers and train them periodically” he said.

He said, participants will be taken through rigorous training throughout the one-week course.
