The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won power with Nana Akufo-Addo in 2016 in an unprecedented defeat of a sitting government.

On the back of promises of radical and massive changes, Mr Akufo-Addo got into office with high hopes from expectant Ghanaians.

YEN.com.gh recently reported that President Nana Akufo-Addo’s popularity is waning due to his inability to deliver most of his campaign promises almost two years after he became President.

The report, from Africawatch, also alleges that this unpopularity has moved the president to be defensive in public.

But it would seem the President is not getting love from some members of his party. And they are influential members too, as YEN.com.gh reporting will show.

1. Kwame Asare Obeng. a.k.a A-Plus

Musician A-Plus has on various occasions said that apart from being a NPP member, he is personal fan of the President.

So when A-Plus pointed that the president was not forced by anyone to make promises pre-2016 elections, it came as a surprise to many.

Since then, the musician has attacked the government's record on the economy and the fight against corruption.

2. Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe

Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe is a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). But the medical doctor is no fan at all of President Akufo-Addo.

In fairness, Dr Tamakloe has not become a critic as much as he is only continuing with his criticisms of Nana Akufo-Addo. Dr Tamakloe has also called for the resignation of Vice-President Bawumia.

3. Kennedy Agyapong

The last on our list is the Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong. Mr Agyapong has a vocal personality that has been channeled into hitting the government on the economy.

He has decried the collapse of companies and called for drastic changes lest the NPP loses in 2020.
