Top premium brands, business leaders to be honoured on Oct. 20

Businesses and brands that have exhibited continuous quality, standard and competitiveness, as well as some individuals who have been able to growth their ventures through quality leaderships skills will be recognized at the 2nd Ghana Business Quality Awards (GBQA).

This year’s event has been slated for Saturday, October 20, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The GBQA seeks to promote quality leadership, best premium quality products and business services in the country.

The awards is being organised by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG) under the auspices of the Ministries of Trade and Industry and Business Development, in collaboration with the Ghana Standard Authority.

A statement signed by Sam Ato Gaisie, Founder/President of EFG, said the event will be held in Accra on the theme: “Building Ghana Beyond Aid: the Role of the Private Sector in Economic Growth and Job Creation”.

The award ceremony is expected to present more than 35 awards to award-winning business icons, quality leadership, business services and quality products and services, who have contributed to the promotion of quality socio-economic and business development in Ghana.

“The country cannot achieve the Ghana beyond Aid initiative without emphasising on quality of leadership from the public and the private sector, manufacturing of premium quality products, importation of quality products and quality delivery of services in Ghana,” the statement said.

It said the award would recognise quality leadership personalities, Ghanaian business icons as the business pride of their native region, and non-Ghanaian or naturalised business icons as the business pride representing their various countries but resident in Ghana.

Other recognitions would go for “Overall Business Icon of the year, Quality Women Leadership Award, Quality Diplomatic Leadership Award of the Year, Quality Business and Traditional Leadership Award as well as the Best Premium Quality Products and Services that has met the standards of quality, deserving of praise and commendation from consumers and the public.”

The ‘Business Icon of the Year Awards’ assessment are “a Ghanaian, non-Ghanaian or naturalised business executive, who is a native of a region or a country and has contributed to the socio-economic and business development in the country.

The business development that had built enterprises with a deep enduring impact on the economy and the wider society in Ghana and with exceptional leadership skills, innovative strategies and with focus on long-term growth, which has helped make his or her vision for the company a reality,” it noted.

The Best Premium Quality Services of the Year award criteria assessment, according to the statement, would be awarded based on the basis of three parameters thus a registered business in Ghana that had demonstrated overall service quality, competitiveness and innovation.

The ‘Best Premium Quality Products of the Year Award’ assessment criteria, the statement said would be based on four parameters that demonstrate overall product superior quality, product labeling or packaging, product competitiveness and product standard certification (ISO 9001:2015 certification).
