Ghana’s Normalization Committee expects a refund from CAF to cover the cost of its preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone after the continent’s ruling body cancelled the encounter on Tuesday.

According to sources within the stopgap Committee, the country is expecting a reimbursement of over $250,000 to cover player flight tickets, hotel accommodation and match tickets for the qualifier for over a 25-man contingent.

This comes as result of CAF’s decision to cancel the AFCON qualifier after Sierra Leone failed to meet FIFA’s demand to reinstate the two SLFA officials, President Isha Johansen and General Secretary Chris Camara.

The Black Stars are currently preparing to face Asante Kotoko in a friendly in Kumasi on Friday.

Meanwhile , Captain Asamoah Gyan and his colleagues have said they will play the friendly game against the Porcupine Warriors free of charge.
