Ghana Innovation Hub begins operations on October 1

A newly furnished office with the aim of supporting entrepreneurs, tech and digital companies has been opened in Accra at the Accra Digital Centre.

The Ghana Innovation Hub which is ready to begin operations on October 1 will nurture the next generation of innovators by providing a physical working space as well as business development services, investment matchmaking and ecosystem support.

The hub was set up by a consortium of BlueSpace Africa, the Ghana Technology University College and MDF West Africa under the e-Transform program of the Ministry of Communications.

Speaking to GhanaWeb at the launch, the Project Manager of Ghana Innovation Hub, Susanne Roelofsen said the hub was created because they believe in the power of technology to improve business operations.

According to her, in order to help develop innovative businesses, the newly created hub will work to improve the quality and availability of support services and access to finance in the Ghanaian ecosystem.

She further stated that the hub will not only offer a co-working space to entrepreneurs or businesses but meeting rooms, training room and boardroom will also be available for rent.

The Managing Director of MDF West Africa, Richard Yeboah also speaking to GhanaWeb said the hub will be an ideation to investment hub which is going to support digital businesses to set up and help transform the Ghanaian economy to the innovation that is needed in the 21st century.
