Division One League side Accra Lions FC have appointed Bosnian manager Edin Prljaca as the new coach of the club.

The club announced the hiring of the experienced tactician on Monday morning.

A statement on the club's social media pages read: "Accra Lions are delighted to announce Edin Prljaca as new Head Coach.

"The Bosnian will replace Bruno Ferry who will serve the club in a new role as Head of Football Operations with immediate effect.

"The appointment of Edin Prljaca marks a new milestone in the history of Accra Lions Football Club.

The 47-year-old previously had coaching stints at Chinese giants Guangzhou Evergrande, the Bosnian National Team and worked as Sports Director for the Bosnian powerhouse FC Sarajevo as well as many other Bosnian Premier League teams.

"Bruno Ferry, who crowned his extremely successful time as head coach of Accra Lions with the promotion to Division One in 2017, will be responsible for the further professionalization of the club’s scouting network in Ghana, West and Central Africa."
