All is set for the commencement of the maiden edition of The StarTimes Cup with 52 clubs confirming their readiness for the cup competition.

The makeshift competition to engage players in the absence of the local league have been endorsed by all 16 premier league clubs with 36 division one clubs joining as well.

The competition will see clubs in the two top tiers of Ghana football zoned based on geographic location and played in an all play all format in the groups.

The 3 zones in the division one league will be subdivided into mini zones to add to the two zones from the premier league.

The competition is set to kick off later this month preceded by a stakeholders meeting early next week.

Organizers of the competition are yet to come out with the list of clubs competing in the cup games with some 14 clubs opting not to play.
