Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has extended an invitation to Ghanaians in the diaspora to return home with their expertise and knowledge to help accelerate development in the country.

According to the Minister, the government is prepared to put in place measures that will make their return and stay, as comfortable as possible.

The Minister who was addressing participants at this year’s Asanteman Day celebrations in Denver Colorado, in the United States of America opined that the government is also willing to take advice and accommodate inputs from Ghanaians in the diaspora in order to help build a prosperous and developed country.

“ We are aware that each and every one of you work in a particular place and you have various professional backgrounds and it is our desire that you bring this expertise to help in building Ghana. We should join in and ensure that Ghana develops to the level we want it so that we can reduce the brain drain because what will happen is that whatever incentives it is that you’re enjoying here will be the same incentives that government will put in place to ensure you remain home” the Minister noted.

Simon Osei Mensah also encouraged the Ghanaian community in the diaspora to take advantage of government’s one district one factory initiative, adding that the plan by the government is to ensure that at least every district in the country owns a factory.

“ The plan is to have as many factories as possible in every district, but at least, each district must own a factory. Those of you who have money, or whose friends have money please come and invest in this laudable initiative. We are ready to play our part by facilitating and ensuring that all the paperwork you need is done” he said.
