With a few days to go for the Big Millennium Marathon on Saturday, September 22, organisers of the competition, have opened another registration point, for athletes who wants to participate.This was after the first official desk at the Zen Gardens, opposite Elite Sports, Labone, Accra.

The ceremony, was characterize with another raffle draw, which saw three lucky winners picking home some attractive prizes donated by Elite Sports Shop, who are also sponsors of the marathon.

Wisdom Adika, a player of Zenaps FC, Sefanya Ameya Adadevoh, a goldsmith and Ibrahim Abdul Mumin, a soldier from the Artillery Division of the Volta Barracks, were the lucky winners.

Mr. Wael H. Hakim, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elite Sports, who donated treadmill for the winner of the 2018 race said, he had been a partner of the Millennium Marathon since it begun four years ago and believes it is the best platform to unearth long distance athletes for Ghana.

He added that the international event has made Ghana the focus of all marathon lovers round the world. Ambassador Ashim Morton, Director of the Millennium Marathon Ltd, said the registration has been extended to September 20, 2018.

He said interested athletes can register and pick their running vests and a gift from the sponsors at the Accra Sports Stadium, Frankies Hotel at Osu, Decathlon at the Nungua Junction Mall and Beautiful Beneath at East Legon or the office of the Millennium Marathon at Nima.

He said organizing such big international sports event need to be funded, and appealed to corporate Ghana to take up the title of headline sponsor.

The event, is being supported by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Ministry of Youth & Sports, Health and Tourism.
