Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency, Sam George Nartey, has tagged President Nana Akufo-Addo as an abysmal failure, emphasizing the latter's failure to fulfil his campaign promises.

Sam George argued that President Akufo-Addo has been unable to accomplish any legacy feat, unlike his predecessor, John Dramani Mahama. He posited that Ghanaians would elect John Mahama as President in the upcoming 2020 elections after recognizing President Akufo-Addo’s failure.

He made these remarks during an interview at the 9th Greater Accra Regional Delegates’ Conference in Accra on Saturday, September 1, 2018.

“People will vote for Mahama because they will be able to compare three years and four months of Mahama to four years of Nana Addo and see that Nana Addo is an abysmal failure. He is super incompetent and is leading this nation into an abyss,” the Ningo-Prampram lawmaker stated.

According to Sam George, “Ghanaians are looking at Nana Addo today. Nana Addo has failed in all his promises. He’s not been able to construct the 1 District, 1 Dam. He has failed to deliver on the one million per constituency. When they look at Nana Addo and remember his promise that he was going to build one factory in one district, [they will realize that] Nana Addo has failed.”

Comparing the erstwhile NDC administration to that of the current government, Sam George said that former President John Mahama was able to undertake a series of infrastructural projects, despite wasting a year in court over the 2016 election petition. This feat, he claimed, could not be achieved by the Nana Addo government which has failed to implement any of its flagship projects.

“All Ghanaians can remember is that John Mahama’s first year [as President] was spent in court. A year after the court ruling, President Mahama had started the reconstruction of the Ridge Hospital, the construction of the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange, Kumasi Airport Phase II, terminal two of the Tamale airport, Kumasi Central Business District Redevelopment programme. All in one year after he had lost one year in court,” he asserted.
