Sack 'arrogant' Musah Superior – NPP executives to Akufo-Addo

Some NPP executives want Musah Iddrisu Superior sacked Some NPP executives want Musah Iddrisu Superior sacked

Some party executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tamale Central and Tamale South constituencies of the Northern Region, are demanding the removal of the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Musah Iddrisu Superior.

The NPP executives, at a joint press conference on Wednesday, 29 August 2018, accused the mayor of disrespecting and disregarding party structures, among others.

According to the statement, read by Tamale South Constituency Secretary, Yussif Danjuma, the mayor is running a parallel administration without recourse to the party's concerned within the metropolis.

Mr Danjuma said Mr Superior is undermining the political authorities in the region and showing outright disrespect towards the constituency and regional executives, a situation they can no longer tolerate.

The statement indicated that Musah Superior snubbed the Northern Regional Executive committee when he was invited for an amicable feud settlement.

"Again, since he is beyond everybody in this region, Mr. President, Tamale metropolis can no longer contain us, the executives and the MCE," Mr Danjuma stated.

He disclosed that the last time the party met Mr Superior, he apologised profusely and was forgiven but subsequently, "his actions and inactions are worse than ever before. Hence, we have no other option than to call for his immediate dismissal since that is the only language he comprehends."

The executives are also accusing the Tamale mayor of awarding contracts to himself and his cronies to the disadvantage of party members.

"No single contract has he ever awarded to the current executives to support the activities of the party," he lamented.

The statement added that since the mayor declared his intention to contest the NPP parliamentary primaries in the Mion Constituency, his appetite for the development of his constituency is very glaring to any careful observer to the detriment of the two constituencies under the Tamale metropolis.

"On this note, we are asking you to save the party in the metropolis by sacking Musah Superior as mayor for Tamale with immediate effect upon receipt of our petition which will be sent to your honourable office or else the worse will happen. Enough is enough, enough of the arrogance, enough of the insolence and vein glory," he added.
