The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) David Asante Apeatu, together with members of the Police Management Board joined the family of the late No. 50613 Corporal Daniel Adu Tieku, to give the deceased officer a befitting burial on Saturday, 18 August 2018 at Adukrom-Akuapem in the Eastern Region.

The Late Corporal met his untimely death on 12 July 2018, after he was shot by armed robbers on the Manso Ayirebikrom and Agroyesum road, in the Ashanti Region, while performing escort duties on Sprinter bus with registration No. AC 644-15.

No. 50613 Daniel Adu Tieku was a Lance Corporal at the time of death but was posthumously promoted to the rank of General Corporal by the IGP for his bravery and valour.

Also present at the funeral were COP/Mr. Prosper Agblor-Director-General/Welfare; DCOP/Mr.Amponsah Asiamah-Director-General/Services; the Ashanti Region Police Commander DCOP/Mr. Kwasi Mensah Duku and his Deputy, DCOP/Mr.Adu Amim and DCOP/Mr. Alphonse Adu Amankwah, the Eastern Region Commander.
